03 DISAPPERRING HOMELAND

‘Disappearing homeland’ is about finding a home that has disappeared or forgotten. Nowadays, more and more people leave their hometowns in pursuit of a better city life, gradually forgetting and abandoning them. It carries my memories of my hometown and also misses the regrets of faded traditional things.

At the beginning of the series, i took photos of my hometown and collected some old photos as first-hand information. These photos are mainly about the abandoned places in the urban process, such as clothing factories, classrooms, hospitals, residential buildings, etc.

By extracting different places in the photos, i imagined them before they were abandoned and combined them with my materials. In this exploration, most of the materials i used were discarded materials in our lives, and some even came from these places in my photos.

I use different methods such as burning, collage, coloring, and superimposing to give them new vitality.
I hope that through this series of explorations, we will reawaken the fond memories of our hometown. Because with the development of society, people are always habitually looking forward, thus ignoring many beautiful things, and i want to keep this beautiful.
